Turkey's FM talks to Russsian media on ties

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said on Wednesday that there was an open and sincere dialogue between Turkey and Russia both in international relations as well as regional and international areas.

Davutoglu had an exclusive interview with Voice of Russia State Radio and Russian news agency "RIA Novosti" and replied to the questions.

Davutoglu said besides its natural and intensive interest in its region, Turkey pursued a global scope foreign policy.

Turkish foreign minister said, "we support all the initiatives that are in parallel with the understanding of peace, stability and prosperity. We have a foreign policy basing on dialogue targeting integration and maximum cooperation between the countries particularly that are in the same region. Turkey wants establishment of a security, stability and peace belt with its environs and it is willing to integrate with close basins."

Commenting of visit of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev to Turkey, Davutoglu said, "relations between the two countries improved following formation of High Level Cooperation Council during the visit of Medvedev."

"High Level Cooperation Council will enable a fruitful dialogue for the two countries to exchange views and to assess probable projects," Davutoglu said and noted that recent high level visits initiated a new period in Turkish-Russian relations.
