Turkish President Abdullah Gul on Wednesday met with his Egyptian counterpart Hosni Mubarak in capital Cairo as part of a working visit to this country.
The two leaders met at Mubarak's presidential residence following a luncheon hosted in the honor of new graduates of the Egyptian War Academies.
Gul attended a graduation ceremony at the Egyptian Military Academy.
The ceremony began with Mubarak's saluting the people.
President Gul was the first head of state to attend the graduation ceremony at the Egyptian Military Academy aside from those of Arabic countries.
The military band at the ceremony played the national anthems of both Egypt and Turkey.
Motorcycles, parachutes, helicopters and tanks made various shows at the ceremony.
Parachutists carried Turkish flags during their show.
Military students carried a giant Turkish flag along with an Egyptian one.
The Egyptian military band played a Turkish Military Band March as a gesture to President Gul and Turkey.
The meeting of the Turkish and Egyptian presidents was closed to news media.
Gul was expected to return to Turkey later on Wednesday.
