Turkey's president inaugurated on Friday the new premises of the International Burch University in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During the inauguration ceremony of the university founded by Turkish and Bosnian board of trustees, President Abdullah Gul said Bosnia and Herzegovina had a special place in Turkish nation's hearts.
Gul said he was not feeling as a foreigner in Bosnia and Herzegovina, thanks to common culture between the two countries.
President Gul expressed Turkey's determination to go on supporting the Balkans and strengthening ties with the region.
Also speaking in the ceremony, Bosnia and Herzegovina's Presidency Chairman Haris Silajdzic said his country was eager to host thousands of students who would come from other countries to have education in his country's universities.
President Abdullah Gul later visited International University of Sarajevo which is also a university established by Turkish and Bosnian board of trustees.
Gul is paying a formal visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina. On Thursday, he had a meeting with Silajdzic and attended a business council meeting.
Also on Thursday, Gul attended signature ceremony of a cooperation agreement between Anadolu Agency (AA) and Federal News Agency of Bosnia-Herzegovina (FENA), and inaugurated the "Award Winning Photographs Exhibition of AA".
Earlier on Friday, Gul received High Representative in Bosnia-Herzegovina Valentin Inzko.
President Gul is expected to return to Turkey later on Friday.
