Turkish Defense Minister Ismet Yilmaz on Friday gathered with Turkish in Prizren, Kosovo, as part of his visit to the country.
"We consider different cultures in Kosovo not as threat but as a richness. Turks and other communities is a richness and a strength for Kosovo," Yilmaz said during the meeting at the Yunus Emre Culture Center in Prizren.
The Turkish minister also visited the tomb of Ottoman Sultan Murad I.
Yilmaz on Saturday met with Kosovo's Prime Minister Hashim Thaci in Pristine as part of a formal visit in the country.
The meeting was held closed to news media.
A statement from Thaci's press office said the meeting took up relations between Turkey and Kosovo as well as latest developments in the Balkans.
The statement cited Yilmaz as saying that Turkey supported a dialogue process between Kosovo and Serbia, adding that the normalization of the relations between the two nations would make great contributions to peace, security and stability in the region.
Yilmaz, who pays his first formal visit to Kosovo, also met with Kosovo's Parliament Speaker Jakup Krasniq and Minister of Public Administration Mahir Yagcilar, a Turkish descent member of Kosovo's cabinet.Last Mod: 09 Şubat 2013, 13:00
