Turkish State Minister & Deputy Premier Ali Babacan will travel to New York, USA on Friday to accompany President Abdullah Gul in a series of meetings at the United Nations (UN).
As part of the visit, Babacan will attend the "Summit on the Millennium Development Goals" to be held between September 20-22, moreover, he will participate in the "65th session of the UN General Assembly", officials told AA.
Babacan, who was selected a member of the "High-Level Panel on Global Sustainability" launched by the UN secretary-general on August 9, will also attend the panel's first meeting to be presided by the UN head on September 19.
During his stay in New York, the Turkish deputy premier will partake in a series of meetings and host a reception on the "Millennium Development Goals" to be jointly organized by Turkey, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and UN Economic Commission for Europe.
Babacan is also expected to attend the "2010 UN Private Sector Forum" and hold high-level bilateral talks during his visit.
