Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Besir Atalay on Sunday departed for a five-day tour of African countries including Burundi, Rwanda and Uganda.

Atalay is set to visit Burundi on the first stop of his tour, and attend ceremonies marking the country's 50th anniversary of independence in capital Bujumbura.

Atalay will proceed to Rwanda on Tuesday and he will pay a visit in Uganda on Wednesday and Thursday.

The Turkish deputy premier is set to meet with high level officials as well as attend in Uganda a grounbreaking ceremony of a highway which will be constructed by a Turkish firm.
