Four Turkish engineers who were kidnapped in Afghanistan eight months ago and freed on Saturday arrived in Turkish embassy, diplomatic officials said.
Engineers Ismail Saglam, Metin Ok, Imam Atli and Cafer Ferhat who were kidnapped by Taliban in Afghanistan on December 26, 2011 were freed as a result of initiatives carried out by Turkey. They were were handed to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in the province of Ghazni on Saturday.
Officials said that engineers arrived in Turkish embassy in Kabul on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu phoned families of engineers after they were released, expressing his best wishes to them.
