The increasing attention to Turkey and the Turkish language across the globe is very pleasing, Turkish Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Mevlut Cavusoglu said.

Attending the "Far East Turkologist Convention" in Japanese capital Tokyo, Cavusoglu expressed that they, as the Turkish government, are attaching great importance to the Yunus Emre Institutes for Turkish culture and would always support the institutes.

The first convention of Turkologists was organized last year in Japan. This year's convention was attended by South Korea, China, and Taiwan.

President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Rifat Hisarciklioglu, Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) President Ibrahim Caglar, and Yunus Emre Foundation President Hayati Develi also took part in the Tokyo convention.

The Yunus Emre Institute aims to contribute to the training of competent academicians and researchers in the fields of Turkish language, history, culture, art and music through certification programs in several cities across the world.
