Turkish fm discusses Syrian issue with US counterpart

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu held a telephone conversation with US Secretary of State John Kerry late on Wednesday.      

Davutoglu, who is currently in Bosnia and Herzegovina to attend the Turkey-Bosnia Herzegovina-Serbia Foreign Ministers Trilateral Consultation Meeting, held a telephone conversation with Kerry, according to diplomatic sources.      

Kerry gave information in regards to his talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov as well as his impressions about the Syrian issue.      

Davutoglu and Kerry both stated that Syrian issue would be handled thoroughly in light of the current developments during Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's Washington visit.      

Meanwhile on Wednesday the US announced an aid fund of 100 million dollars to be donated to Syrians.      

The US will donate 100 million dollars for the victims of violence in Syria and to support over 1.4 million shelter-seekers, US Secretary of State stated.      

The 100 million dollar fund will be used to support the activities of the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) for shelter seekers in Syria, Jordan, Turkey and Lebanon.
