Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu met Maltese Deputy Prime Minister & Foreign Minister Tonio Borg in Istanbul on Thursday.

The meeting came after an agreement signed earlier in the day between Turkey and Malta on "the prevention of tax evasion and double taxation on income."

The meeting between Davutoglu and Borg also focused on relations which the two ministers said further developed after Turkey opened an embassy in Malta two years ago.

Davutoglu and Borg highlighted the importance of cooperation in the Mediterranean, and agreed on the benefits of the program on exchange of diplomats from the two countries.
