Turkish FM visits highway construction site in Bosnia

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu on Wednesday visited the highway construction site of Cengiz Construction Company, which is one of the most important highway constructions in Bosnia- Herzegovina.      

After receiving information about the construction area by representatives of the firm, Davutoglu said, "It is very important that a Turkish firm takes over one of the most important highway construction projects connecting the Balkan countries."       The most important construction part of "5C Corridor" highway in Bosnia-Herzegovina, which starts in Hungary and ends in Ploce Port in Croatia, is also being built up by Cengiz Construction Company.      

The construction works taken over by Cengiz Construction Company in Bosnia-Herzegovina amounts to a total of 370 million Euro.

Meetings with leaders

Davutoglu also met his counterparts from Bosnia-Herzegovina, Zlatko Lagumdzija and Ivan Mrkic from Serbia, as well as members of Presidency of Bosnia-Herzegovina (BiH), Bakir Izetbegovic, Nebojsa Radmanovic and Zeljko Komsic.      

The meeting behind closed doors was a preparation before the tripartite consultation meeting on May 14-15 in Ankara.      

Davutoglu also met separately Grand Mufti of Bosnia and Herzegovina Husein Kavazovic, EU Special Representative for Bosnia-Herzegovina Valentin Inzko and Bosnian politician Sulejman Tihic, a leading member of the Party of Democratic Action.      

The meeting with Kavazovic took place behind closed doors.
