Turkish MFA refutes any access to data from Turkey's Cairo embassy

Turkey's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) spokesman Levent Gumrukcu stated Tuesday all data and assessments from embassies were kept in the governmental archives upon press claims of access to correspondence from Turkey's embassy in Egypt's capital Cairo.

"Claims saying that there was access from abroad to Turkish government's communication information, are totally groundless and baseless," Gumrukcu said. "All data and information coming from our embassy in Cairo is present in our governmental archives."

Gumrukcu added those claims were an injustice and disrespect to the ambassador and embassy personnel, who work devotedly under difficult conditions for the flow of correct information to Ankara.
