Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism Omer Celik on Tuesday received Martin Luther King III who came to Turkey as part of the "Second International Jazz Festival".
Speaking to Turkish press at Istanbul's Feriye Restaurant, Omer Celik said that "today, I host a very important guest".
"A great humanist and a great activist Martin Luther King's son is my guest today. Martin Luther King III came to Turkey for the jazz festival. I am highly pleased to host him. I can say too many things...if the world today is a better place, it is because Martin Luther King made a great contribution. If today's world has certain worse qualities than yesterday, it is due to the enemies of King," Celik stressed.
Martin Luther King III, in his part, said he was pleased to be in Turkey and Istanbul and he thanked Celik for giving them this opportunity.
"I have come to Turkey for the jazz festival. Like my father, I am a big fan of jazz and I am very happy about it," King III also said.Last Mod: 01 Mayıs 2013, 09:36
