Turkish Parliament Speaker Mehmet Ali Sahin received Iranian Foreign Minister Manuchehr Motaki on Monday as part of his state visit to Tehran.

Sahin highlighted importance of inter-parliamentary relations between the two countries. He also expressed Turkey's wish to further develop cooperation between Turkish and Iranian parliaments.

Sahin will be received by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Iran's supreme leader Ali Hoseini-Khamenei later in the day.

Sahin and the accompanying delegation are expected to return to Turkey on June 15.
