Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday left for Libya to participate in a summit meeting of the Arab League on the invitation of the Libyan leader, Muammar al-Gaddafi.
Speaking to reporters before his departure from Ankara, Erdogan said he would deliver a keynote speech at the opening of the Arab League summit, adding that he was also set to meet leaders of the member countries.
"We will have the opportunity to discuss our bilateral relations and also our ties with the Arab League," Erdogan said.
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu will accompany Erdogan on his visit to Libya.
Erdogan is expected to return to Turkey on Sunday.
