Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Tuesday that violence and bloodshed in Syria must stop at once.
"I pray for a stop to the bloodshed in Syria. Despotism does not bring prosperity and those who try at it will drown in that blood they spill," Erdogan told a ceremony marking the inauguration of a high-speed train railway between the Turkish capital, Ankara, and the central Anatolian city of Konya.
"And we pray for Libya, too. Our brothers and sisters in Libya are drawing close to the day they have longed for so many years. I hope the holiday [of Eid ul-Fitr] will be a holiday for our Libyan brothers and sisters that crowns peace, unity and solidarity. I am wishing the same for Bahrain, Egypt, Tunisia and for the entire Muslim world," Erdogan said.
