Turkish President Abdullah Gul is making an official visit to Hungary, saying that political ties can lead to economic benefits.
"We are desirous of developing the already perfect political relations into economic gains," Gul told journalists at the airport in Ankara.
He will meet Hungarian Parliament Speaker Laszlo Kover, Prime Minister Viktor Orban and President Janos Ader.
Gul said that he would also address the Hungarian-Turkish Business Forum. Current annual trade between Turkey and Hungary is worth about $2 billion.
Gul was invited to Hungary by Ader. The visit is in return for that of then-President Pal Schmitt to Turkey in November 2011.Last Mod: 16 Şubat 2014, 15:54
