Turkish President Abdullah Gul met Monday with his Austrian counterpart Heinz Fischer in New York, where he attends the UN General Assembly meetings.
Turkish President will also meet on Monday with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and Iraqi Vice President Khudayr Al-Khuzai, and participated in a business dinner hosted by the American-Turkish Council.
On Tuesday, Turkish President will address the UN General Assembly following U.S. President Barack Obama's speech.
State leaders from 131 countries and foreign ministers from 65 countries participated in the UN General Assembly while Turkish President Gul represented Turkey during the meetings. Leaders were expected to discuss the Syria crisis including the destruction of its chemical weapons stockpile, and Iran’s contentious nuclear program.
