Turkey's president received the Macedonian parliament speaker in Istanbul on Monday.

President Abdullah Gul had a meeting with Macedonia's Parliament Speaker Trajko Veljanoski at Istanbul's Tarabya Mansion, which took place behind closed doors.

Veljanoski is visiting Turkey upon an invitation by his Turkish counterpart Mehmet Ali Sahin.

Sahin and Veljanoski will have a tete-a-tete meeting, and co-chair a meeting of their respective delegations.

Sahin will host a luncheon in honor of the Macedonian delegation.

Sedat Kizilcikli, chairman of the Turkey-Macedonia Parliamentary Friendship Group, will host a dinner in honor of the guest delegation.

Veljanoski and the accompanying delegation is expected to depart from Turkey on Wednesday.
