Turkish President says not to forget Israel-killed Gaza activists

Turkish President Abdullah Gul has said, "we will not forget those who were killed in the Israeli raid on aid ships even if Israel makes apology."

President Gul, who is currently in New York, the United States to attend the UN General Assembly meetings, told a news conference at the Turkevi on Sunday that the four-member panel probing Israel's raid on the six-ship flotilla carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza, should be unbiased and it should act in line with its principles and targets."

Asked whether an apology from Israel would be enough, President Gul said, "we will not forget those who were killed in the Israeli raid on aid ships, even if Israel makes apology."

Highlighting importance of peace in the Middle East, President Gul said, "the Middle East is not a matter restricted with the Israeli-Palestinian dispute. This matter is, in fact, the source of problems in many other parts of the world. It is the biggest issue posing a serious threat to the world."
