Ozgur-Der and Bilgi&Dusunce, Turkish relief associations, on Monday sent 23 tonnes of foodstuffs, flour, blankets and clothing to Syria via the southeastern Akcakale border gate.
The dry food, flour, blankets and clothing collected in the eastern province of Bingol by Ozgur-Der and Bilgi&Dusunce associations were sent to Telebyad, Rasulayn, Afrin, Qamishli and El-Haseke regions, where mainly the Kurds live.
The aid material were handed over to Abu Yahya, logistics supervisor of the Ahrarus Damascus eastern region, who especially expressed his gratitude for children's clothing, baby formula, diapers and baby biscuits and said that they were in urgent need of medical equipment, medicine, carpet, rug, children's clothing and shoes. Stating that people were sleeping on the floor, Abu Yahya emphasized the need for sponge beds and carpets.
Ozgur-Der Committee to Support Syrian Refugees last week had delivered a truck loaded with flour, a truck loaded with medicine, clothing, food and blankets to the supervisor of Dar-ul-Muslimeen Abu Vail in Serekaniye.
