Turkish warplanes have hit 152 targets of militant PKK in the north of Iraq since August 17, General Staff said on Wednesday.
A statement posted on the website of General Staff said "Turkish warplanes have bombed shelters, checkpoints and ammunition depots of terrorist organization in the north of Iraq since August 17, 2011."
The statement said that "terrorist organization's acts in the north of Iraq would be monitored and air strikes would take place when new targets were determined."
Turkey's Kurdish question has existed since the first years of the republic, but it turned violent in 1984, several years after the establishment of the PKK. More than 40,000 civilians and security forces have been killed in clashes so far.
