US Patriot systems arrive in Turkey's Iskenderun

70 vehicles in a U.S. ship carrying Patriot air defense systems landed at the Iskenderun Port on Wednesday.

Speaking at a press briefing at the Iskenderun Port, NATO's Military Spokesman Lieutenant Dariusz Kacperczyk said that U.S. flagged ship "Alliance Charleston" docked at the Iskenderun Port on Wednesday and that 70 trucks carrying pieces of the Patriot air defense systems landed at the port.

"The trucks will wait here tonight," Kacperczyk noted.

Also speaking at the press briefing, the Spokesman for the Press Coordination Center of the Turkish General Staff, Major Cengiz Alabacak said that the Patriot defense systems from the U.S. would be deployed in the south-eastern province of Gaziantep and that the systems would be operational as of the first half of February.
