14,000 cattle from Uruguay will be in Turkey on August 17 within the scope of a tender by Turkish meat authority.
Muhammet Kaya, director general of the Turkish Meat and Fishery Authority (EBK), told AA that the authority earlier announced a tender to buy 50,000 tons of livestock.
"Within the scope of this tender, 14,000 cattle including Angus and Hereford will come from Uruguay to Turkey. 14,000 cattle equal nearly 7,000 tons. Bursa will get 2,500-2,800 cattle. Istanbul, Ankara, Eskisehir and Sakarya will have the rest," Kaya said.
