Egyptian Oil Minister Sharif Ismail said the United Arab Emirates (UAE) transferred 180,000 tons of fuel in aid to Egypt in July.
"We are in coordination with Saudi Arabia and Kuwait about the timing of fuel transfer which was promised earlier. The UAE transferred 180,000 tons of fuel in aid to Egypt in July. You know we have fuel shortage, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait are sweating over ending the crisis in the country," Ismail said.
The UAE, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait had said they would provide a grant of $12 billion to Egypt.
Saudi Arabia had promised a $5 billion aid package including energy products, a 5-year interest-free deposit whereas the UAE had said it would provide a $1 billion grant to Egypt and a $2 billion loan as an interest-free central bank deposit.
