Chamber of Commerce of Istanbul and Vienna Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Monday signed cooperation and education agreement.

The agreement was signed by Murat Yalcintas, the chairman of Istanbul Chamber of Commerce and Brigitte Jank, the President of the Vienna Chamber of Commerce in Vienna.

Speaking at a joint news conference, Yalcintas said ITO was eager to boost actual 2 billion USD trade volume between Turkey and Austria and make close cooperation on vocational education.

Yalcintas said the first Osmanli Bankasi was established in 1890s and the first chamber of trade in 1882 with the support of Austria, "today's cooperation agreement aims at maintaining this historical cooperation in the future."

Jank, the chairperson of Vienna Chamber of Trade, said they would be pleased to make close cooperation with Istanbul Chamber of Trade.

Jank described commercial relations between Turkey and Austria as "excellent", noting Austrian businessmen found an appropriate market in Turkey.

Following the joint news conference, "Economy Forum" meeting was held with the participation of Turkish and Austrian businessmen.
