China will make the yuan more flexible as part of efforts to improve its exchange rate regime, the official Xinhua news agency said on Saturday, quoting the People's Bank of China.

Beijing has been under strong pressure, especially from the United States to allow the yuan to rise in value in order to help reduce global economic imbalances including America's large trade deficit with China.
