Enterprise Europe Network, an EU project bringing together 570 business support organisations from 45 countries, helped thousands of small Turkish companies establish relations with firms from around the world.
By the help of the network, nearly 8,000 Turkish companies from eight provinces had business contacts with other companies from 44 countries, an official from Turkey's small and medium industry development organization, or KOSGEB, said on Tuesday.
Mehmet Yilmaz, KOSGEB director in southern province of Kahramanmaras, said that Turkey joined the network in 2009. He said 35 centers, consisting of universities, business chambers and KOSGEB, provides help for small companies in Turkey.
"Under the project, our experts provide service to companies free of charge on business information, commercial and technological cooperation with foreign companies," he said.
"Companies are able to get information from more than 4,000 experts with one phone call or an e-mail inquiry about a country or a business topic they are interested in," Yilmaz added.
