Exports from southeastern Turkey to the neighboring countries increased by 53.49 percent in the first half of the year.

Southeastern Anatolia Exporters' Association said Monday that exports from the region to the neighboring countries rose to 1.21 million USD in the January-June period of 2010 from 936 thousand USD in the same period last year.

Meanwhile, total exports from the region amounted to 2.27 billion USD.
