Firm to build Turkish nuclear power plant not decided yet: minister

World Bulletin / News Desk

Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Taner Yildiz on Tuesday said that news reports indicating that the Turkish government had decided on a country or a specific company for the nuclear power plant to be built in the northern province of Sinop were not accurate.

Speaking to reporters in the Turkish capital of Ankara on Tuesday, Taner Yildiz refuted rumors that they decided on a company for the nuclear power plant but stated that "I can say a Canadian firm is out of the race for the Turkish nuclear power plant to a great extent." The process for the nuclear power plants continues, Yildiz also said.

Turkey continues to hold talks with Japan, China and South Korea for its nuclear power plant.
