French President Francois Hollande announced on Tuesday austerity measures taken by his government returned 6 million euros to France.

Since Hollande came to power in May, 2012, France has spent 102.9 million euros of 108.9 million euros budget, said a statement released from the Elysee Presidential Palace.

Hollande's socialist government cut back expenditures of personnel, hospitality services along with his personal expenses, the statement also said.
