A handful of young businessmen from the Gaza Strip will have the chance to take part in a December economic conference to be held in Turkey, a Palestinian official said Wednesday.
The Gaza Youth Ministry has received an invitation from the organizers of the International Young Entrepreneurship Congress to attend the event, to be held in Istanbul on December 6, head of the ministry's youth exchange program Rami al-Gendi told Anadolu Agency.
Young entrepreneurs from Gaza will be expected to propose ideas on how to develop trade ties between Gaza and countries around the world, al-Gendi said.
The ministry will supervise the selection of members of the 20-strong Gaza delegation, he said, noting that the invitation targeted the sons of Gaza businessmen and young people who had displayed initiative and ambition.
Each delegation member should propose a project that could prove viable and valuable, he added.
The two-day conference is expected to bring together young entrepreneurs from several countries to exhibit examples of entrepreneurship and join workshops and bilateral business meetings that will be attended by international academics and business leaders.
