Number of Israeli tourists, which decreased aftermath of Mavi Marmara attack, increased with Israeli apology to Turkey.

According to a report prepared by Turkish Hoteliers Federation (TUROFED), the number of tourists coming from Israeli doubled in the first half of 2013 when compared to last year.

In 2012, the Israeli tourist number was 31,652 in January-June period, while it reached 57,082 in the same period of 2013. 43,369 of the Israeli visitors entered Turkey in the first 5 months.

In 2008, the number of Israeli tourists was over 500,000 and after the Mavi Marmara attack, this number regressed to 100,000. Israeli's share was 3% in tourist figures in Turkey.

Mavi Marmara, a ship in Gaza-bound aid flotilla, organized by the Free Gaza Movement and IHH in 2010, was carrying humanitarian aid and construction materials with the intention of breaking the Israeli-Egyptian blockade on the Gaza Strip.

On May 31, 2010, Israeli soldiers boarded the ships from speedboats and helicopters to attack, and killed eight Turkish nationals and one Turkish American aboard, which worsened the relations between Turkey and Israel.

We'd like to correct the information above regarding the number of passengers on board our boats that Israel murdered. There were 8 Turks and one American. There were also over 60 wounded, some badly, on board all six boats. Please correct that information as the U.S. State Department needs to remember that Furkan Dogan was an American citizen ONLY
