A Kazakh privatization airline company launched on Wednesday direct flights to Turkish commercial hub of Istanbul.
The maiden Scat Airlines flight from Shymkent has landed at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport. It was carrying 70 passengers.
"I have full belief that this flight will help two people get closer to each other, and shorten distance," Kazakh Ambassador to Turkey Zhanseit Tuimebayev said during a ceremony held in Istanbul.
The number two airline company in Kazakhstan, Scat Airlines has 42 aircraft and operates flights to Antalya, Bodrum and Dalaman.
