Privatization of Turkey's entire electrical grid is expected to be completed with tenders set for Friday for the sell out of four state-run distribution companies.
Turkey's energy minister, Taner Yildiz, said Thursday the tenders will offer bidders operating rights of the electrical grids covering Istanbul, and a number of provinces in the country's south, east and southeast regions. Yildiz also said that the privatization of 17 distribution companies had been concluded successfully, which he said generated some $10 billion for the government budget.
Over two dozen companies have expressed interest to buy the operating rights of the remaining state-owned electrical grids.Last Mod: 15 Mart 2013, 09:44
