Turkish Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan called on businessmen of Gulf countries to invest in Turkey more.
Although trade volume between Turkey and Gulf countries increased 6-7 times in the past ten years, this was not on desired level, added Caglayan who spoke at the business forum of Turkey-Gulf Cooperation Council in Istanbul on Monday.
Noting that tourism sector developed significantly in Turkey, Caglayan said that Turkey hosted 36 million tourists for the first time in the history of Republic, adding that Turkey earned 23.5 billion USD in tourism.
Turkey would become world's 6th biggest and Europe's fourth biggest tourism destination with these figures, he noted.
Caglayan also said that Turkey made construction business worth of 207 billion USD in 94 countries so far, and he called on Gulf country businessmen to make partnerships in third countries, Africa and Caucasus in this sector.
Caglayan said that total trade volume among Turkey and six Gulf countries was 13.5 billion USD which was under the real potential.
Caglayan called on Gulf countries to lift visa with Turkey, and said that Turkey, so far, lifted visas with 62 countries.
