The number of bad checks dropped by 53.4 percent to 492,298 in the first half of 2010 when compared to the same period last year.
According to the data by the Turkish Central Bank, the number of bad checks was 1,057,673 in the first half of 2009.
In June 2010, the Central Bank informed banks of 71,015 bad checks, a 60.9 percent fall from the same month of last year, when this figure was 181,552.
