A total of 45,235 vehicles were registered in September, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) said on Friday.
The number of motor vehicle registrations in Turkey fell in September, a 47.7 percent year-on-year drop, according to official data.
"In September, 20,969 cars were registered to traffic," TurkStat said in a statement.
In September, automobiles accounted for most new registrations, 46.4 percent, while motorcycles and small trucks represented 29.4 percent and 11.3 percent, respectively.
Compared to the previous month, motor vehicle registrations fell 29 percent.
TurkStat added that over 640,000 vehicle registrations were transferred in September.
As for the car makes, Renault made up 14.9 percent of new registrations, followed by Fiat with 9.9 percent, Volkswagen with 8 percent, Honda with 7.3 percent, and Nissan with 7 percent.
The next data on road motor vehicles is due for release on Dec. 4.
