Aker Oilfield Services, a Norwegian provider of oilfield products, systems and services to the oil and gas industry, has agreed a $465 million contract with Brazilian energy company Petrobras to provide sub-sea services offshore from Brazil from its Aker Wayfarer vessel, the company has announced.
The firm will be responsible for installing and maintaining equipment on sub-sea oil wells under the $465 million, five-year contract, which will start in 2016.
The Aker Wayfarer vessel, currently an offshore supply ship, will be overhauled at a shipyard in Norway to become a deep-water sub-sea equipment support vessel.
The 157m-long vessel, capable of operating in water up to 3,000m deep, will be the second vessel of its type operated by the firm in Brazil after it launched the Skandi Santos in March 2010.Last Mod: 14 Aralık 2014, 12:34
