Robert Ameerali, Vice-President of Suriname, stated that they followed Turkish contractors' successful works closely and added, "We need them to construct new energy plants, schools and highways."

According to the statement of Turkish Confederation of Businessmen and Industrialists (TUSKON), a high number of Turkish and Surinamese businesspeople held bilateral meetings in "The Investment and Commerce between Turkey-Suriname Forum."

Ameerali expressed that, although Suriname had wide range of national resources and agricultural products, they needed more engineers, at the opening of the Forum.

Underlining they needed energy plants, schools and highways as a priority, Ameerali said "We need a serious investment of contractors. Here, there is a great market for you... We know successful works of Turkish contractors all around the world. Open up your horizon and come to Suriname."

Rizanur Meral, head of TUSKON, said he believed that Suriname will be a profitable destination for investments. "We can make cooperation with the Surinamese especially in agriculture, food, breeding, mining and particularly in bauxite, textile, infrastructure and tourism."
