The tender for the major repair of Istanbul's Bosphorus and Fatih Sultan Mehmet (FSM) bridges is set to take place on September 5.
Bids will be received for the tender of 40th year repair and maintenance activities for Bosphorus and FSM bridges in Istanbul.
Electrical equipment at bridges will be renewed and 236 bent suspension cables will be made vertical alongside laying new asphalt within scope of the maintenance and repair activity so they can carry greater loads and last longer.
Road lanes near the suspension cables will be closed to traffic between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. and traffic will not completely be closed unless obligatory cases.
The bidders can take necessary documents from Turkish Directorate General for Highways and must be returned to the Directorate before the date of tender by hand or mail.
The repair and maintenance work is expected to be completed in 18 months.
