Tesco Kipa has chosen Turkey as the most appropriate port from which to send healthy and fresh fishes to European consumers.
In a written statement issued, Tesco Kipa said that the company's first exports of fishes from Turkey took place to Poland.
Tesco Kipa sent 50 tonnes of fishes to Poland in one single month. The fishes included sea bream, sea bass, salmon and fillets.
Tesco Kipa plans to export fishes to many European countries including Britain, Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia. The company aims to export 6,000 tonnes of fishes in a single year.
Tesco Kipa is a Turkish chain supermarket specialising in food. It is currently majority owned by British chain Tesco and as such, uses the Tesco name.
