I'm honored to be the first Thailand PM who visits Montenegro, a country with a proud history in a significant region of the Balkans, said in a statement to the media, PM of the Kingdom of Thailand Jingluk Shinavatra who is in an official visit to Montenegro today.
Shinavatra noted that Thailand sees Montenegro as an ''emerging market''.
In order to support the economic ties between the two countries, today was signed an agreement between the two countries, which will allow contacts between the officials.
"Location of Montenegro and its economic progress make it an attractive gateway for Thai products exported to the Balkans", said Shinavatra adding that Montenegro and Thailand should improve connections between their ports in order to improve the trade.
Montenegrin PM Milo Djukanovic said that Thailand as a big developing country in Southeast Asia is interesting to Montenegro, and that between the two countries is set up a good foundation for the development of cooperation in the field of economics.
Djukanovic stated that much attention was given to food production during the conversation of the two prime ministers today.
"I think Thailand may be inspiring for Montenegro, as well as for all other countries in the region as it is a big country with a serious investment potentials", Djukanovic said.
During Shinavatra's official visit to Montenegro, officials expect to sign the agreement between the governments of Montenegro and Thailand on the exemption of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and official passports.
