Bushati said that the convergence of the electric power systems of Albania with the standards of the European Union (EU) is also among the priorities.
"In the past we have had problems with the infrastructure. Our government will take steps to enhance the security of electric power network and reduce losses. When we talk about the Southern Corridor and the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), we welcome such projects, not only because we benefit from it, but because they are of strategic and economic importance for the region," said Bushati.
He said that TAP will contribute in increasing GDP of Albania, growing economy, that it will make the bonds between Albania and region, promote foreign investments and create new jobs.
"These projects will have a positive influence on other branches of the economy," said Bushati.
He revealed that Albania will host a meeting of energy ministers next year.
"There are new realities in our region. No more bad news, just good. Croatia became a member of the EU and an agreement was reached between Kosovo and Serbia. Now we need to transform the peace through development projects for the region. Through the energy and gas pipelines we can connect our economy, people, agriculture and infrastructure," said Bushati.
