Chairmen, chief executive officers or deputy chairmen from 18 giant companies from around the world will get together in Istanbul on Thursday for the sixth meeting of the Investment Advisory Council of Turkey, Turkish Treasury said on Wednesday.
Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, as well as Philippe Le Houerou, Vice President of the World Bank, will join top executives of multinational companies that represent a turnover of around $500 billion and employ 1.6 million people.
The council is a platform established with the participation of senior executives from prominent multinational companies in order to address the administrative barriers to investment, improve the positive image of Turkey as an attractive investment destination and provide an international perspective to the ongoing investment climate reform agenda. Since the establishment in 2004, the Investment Advisory Council of Turkey made five meetings each year under the chair of Prime Minister.
Heads of leading Turkish business organizations, such as Turkish Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (TUSIAD), the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), Turkish Exporters' Assembly (TIM) and International Investors Association of Turkey (YASED) will also take part at the meeting.
