Turkey's imports from the U.S decreased by 9.7 percent in the first quarter of 2014 compared to the same period in 2013, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat).
Statistics released by TurkStat on Wednesday state that Turkey’s imports from the U.S. totaled $3.16 billion in the quarter from US$3.5 billion in the same period of 2013.
Meanwhile, exports to the U.S increased by only 3.6 percent in the same period to $1.42 billion.
Turkey's imports from the U.S. mainly consists of raw materials and consumer goods.
