The Istanbul Stock Exchange (ISE) and the Istanbul Gold Exchange are set to be merged under one umbrella called the Borsa Istanbul as part of capital markets law.

Speaking to AA correspondent, Osman Sarac, deputy head of the Istanbul Gold Exchange, said that Borsa Istanbul would offer product variety.

Sources would be utilized more effectively with Borsa Istanbul, he said.

With this merger, an important step of the Istanbul Finance Center project would be taken, he said.

Sarac said that more fruitful steps would be taken in accordance with turning Istanbul into a regional finance center.
