Turkey's unemployment rate was up by 0.1 percent in February to reach 10.5 percent, the country's statistics authority said Wednesday.
TurkStat said non-agricultural unemployment was 12.9 percent with a 0.2 percentage points increase, and youth unemployment was 20.4 percent with a 2.1 percentage points increase in February over the same period from a year earlier.
It said the jobless number soared by 163,000 to reach to 2,884 thousand, registering a 5.9 percent increase.
Also the number of the employed was up by 1,208 thousand to reach 24.5 million.
Labour force participation rate (LFPR) was 49.6 percent with a 1.7 percentage point rise from a year earlier.
