Turkey's Babacan sees no inflation risk

Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan has said that the government saw no inflation risk in coming period.

The real risk could be seen in stagnation, said Babacan who spoke to reporters during G-20 Conference on Commodity Price Volatility in Istanbul on Tuesday.

Noting that there was a possibility of economic recession in Europe and the world, Babacan said that however, it was early to say there would be recession, adding that it was up to the measures the other countries would take.

The U.S. announced a package of measures and we will see its results, and we will also see what European countries will do in coming period, said Babacan.

The analysis on world economy showed that we have entered into a slower period in economy compared to the previous year, he added.

Babacan noted that Turkey should adapt its policies according to a possible stagnation.
