On Friday morning, the banking and holding sector indices declined by 1.46 percent and 0.69 percent, respectively. The BIST mining index showed the worst performance at the open -- down 1.96 percent -- while all sector indices recorded a fall.
On Thursday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index fell by 0.46 percent to close at 117,110.25 points -- with a 6.6 billion-Turkish lira ($1.68 billion) trade volume -- hovering between 117,072.02 points and 118,589.72 points.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate climbed to 3.9620 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), compared with Thursday's closing rate of 3.9310.
The euro/lira rate rose to 4.8900 on Friday morning, up from 4.8460 at the previous close.
The price of Brent oil was $69.53 per barrel as of 10.25 a.m. local time (0725GMT) Friday, versus price corridor of $68.5-$69.8 on Thursday.
